IB + uni courses HELP!!
Hi there, so over the summer I have been looking at university options and I am interested in studying Chemical Engineering. These are my subjects (with predicted score):
HL Physics (7)
HL Economics (7)
HL English Language and Literature (6)
SL Spanish (7)
SL Chemistry (7)
SL Maths: Analysis and Approaches (7)
I know that the SL maths will be a disadvantage, but my dream colleges are:
University of Cambridge
Imperial College London
University of Edinburgh
1. Do you think I could still get accepted to any of these school although I have SL Maths?
2. Is there a way that if I perform well on the entrance exam I could still get in?
3. Can I apply for any Bridging courses to recuperate the behind maths?
Thank you!

Imperial College- Aeronautical Engineering Applicants 2020 Entry
Quoted from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering:
"What laptop to choose?
Our recommendation is to buy a laptop with the following specifications:
Intel i5/i7 CPU
8/16GB of RAM
512GB hard drive
13”/15” screen
We do not make official recommendations on the specific make of laptops. When choosing your laptop processing power is less important than weight (light) and battery life (long). The more RAM you have the better. An SSD hard drive can speed up some processes, but is not essential. A touch screen can be useful for annotating notes but is also not essential.
The Department’s laptop loan scheme uses:
HP EliteBook 840G5, 16GB of RAM, 512GB SSD drive, 15” display
Mac users can consider the MacBook Pro 13”, 16GB of RAM, 512GB SSD drive."
I'm looking at the Surface Laptop 3. I've seen a couple of aero students on Imperial's subreddit recommending Surface products.

Imperial Accommodation 2020
I am due to start Imperial College in October but I'm having some trouble deciding where to live. My biggest priority is to have a room with en suite facilities. I like the North Acton accommodation as its cheaper, modern and has double beds. I also really like the look of the new Kemp Porter buildings. My only reservations with North Acton are how far away it is and that there doesn't seem to be much going on there. I wouldn't want to constantly be on a tube and feel like I'm missing out on London life.
The other option is being in South/Eastside in South Kensington. The distance to university and the rest of Central London would be great but I have heard its not very social and the cost would be a big strain on me. This being said, I have the option to move in January instead which would make the accommodation much more affordable.
Pembridge Hall has also been made available this year which is another option but I don't know much about it besides its location.
If anyone has lived in these halls, I'd be very grateful to know what your thoughts on them were. Is the distance from North Acton much of an issue? And is the cost of Southside not worth it?

Narrowly missed my grade - what are my chances?
I would think it would be fine - most Uni's will be desperate for international students and their elevated fees this year. Having said that I have no idea how competitive the course is - your best bet is to email the admissions asap and explain the situation - a lot of internationals are unable to take all their exams this year at all - admissions will be working with them on a case by case basis, I imagine.
